Why Untangly exists.
Untangly started the way most useful things do: with a mess someone got tired of. Firms we knew were running serious practices, real clients, real deadlines, real liability, on a stack of tools that never quite agreed with each other, held together by one person's memory and a tracking spreadsheet.
The software industry's answer was more features. More modules, more settings, more dashboards, more things to configure and abandon. We think the answer is fewer places. One system that holds the client, the work, the documents, the conversation, and the money, so nothing can fall between systems, because there is no between.
We serve accounting and tax firms in the United States and Canada today, with the Middle East and Africa next on the roadmap. The tax codes differ; the operational problems do not.
What we believe, in writing
The product should lower your heart rate. Features that impress in demos but confuse in March don't ship.
Published pricing. Comparisons that admit competitor strengths. A switching page that tells you when not to switch.
Your data exports any day you ask, in usable formats. Retention should be earned by the product, not enforced by the exit.
Clients hired your firm. The portal, the emails, the experience carry your name. We are proudest when we are invisible.
Migration with a named human. Training in your context. Response times we publish. Software this central to a firm cannot come with a chatbot alone.
We are not a ledger, not tax prep software, not a bank. QuickBooks, Xero, and your tax tools do their jobs; we make sure the work around them never slips.
